Southland Casino Hotel in West Memphis, Arkansas has completed its $320m dollar expansion project. The casino began construction three years ago by transforming its one-time racetrack.
The destination now features a 300-room, 20-story hotel with 12 penthouse suites and a 113,000-square-foot gaming floor with 2,400 slot machines, 50 live table games. The casino offers guests additional dining and bar options.
The casino said in an official statement: “Southland Casino Hotel, just mere steps away from the new spacious casino floor and new bars and restaurants, looks forward to serving its loyal casino patrons, as well as new guests from surrounding areas such as Memphis, Little Rock, Nashville, northern Alabama and St. Louis.”
Southland Casino Hotel is owned and operated by Delaware North, which has more than a dozen gaming operations throughout the United States and Australia.
Delaware North CEO Lou Jacobs said that the completed project is a tremendous win for the company.
Jacobs commented: "The Southland expansion is the culmination of a legacy project for Delaware North. The completion puts Southland on the map as a true casino destination that will draw patrons from both near and far."
In other news, the casino recently appointed Osi Imomoh as its new President and General Manager. Imomoh previously served the location as its Food and Beverage Director and held several management positions during his time with Southland.
Prior to joining Southland, Imomoh worked for Isle of Capri Casinos, the former Jumer's Casino & Hotel and Delaware North's Gaming Entertainment Management in Illinois.
