Wynn’s latest construction plans include new poker rooms and a sportsbook facility.

Wynn Resorts is looking to expand its Encore Boston Harbor casino resort in Everett.

Under its proposals, two new hotels with ballrooms, three parking lots, a theatre and restaurants will be constructed on 1.8 million square feet of land across the street from where the main casino is situated.

Wynn’s latest construction plans also call for new poker rooms and a sportsbook facility to supplement the new development.

However, to get the go-ahead for these features Wynn must first be approved by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.

The land Wynn is hoping the redevelop is currently occupied by parking lots, but these would be demolished should Wynn’s plans be approved.

According to local reports, Wynn has already begun the first phase of its redevelopment plans, approving an initial site plan to be voted on by the Everett City Council.

This vote would include a decision on a required zoning change which would be necessary should gambling be allowed to take place on the redeveloped land.

The first phase of construction includes a 2,100-space parking garage, sports bar, poker room, nightclub with a 1,000-person capacity, a roof-deck day club, a 980-seat movie theater and a 200-seat comedy club.

The expansion would be connected to Encore Boston Harbor’s main casino by a pedestrian bridge over Broadway’s Route 99.

Recently, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission awarded Wynn the state’s first sports betting license.

The operator says it plans to offer sports betting in its new casino, but this will depend on the verdict of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.
