It will now offer second-generation cashless technology, including biometric verification.

Resorts World Las Vegas and Sightline Payments have partnered to announce the launch of second-generation cashless technology at the casino. This technology promises to bring increased functionality to the omnichannel experience for Resorts customers.

The tech update will include remote identity verification and enrollment for loyalty and payments, biometric authentication and a single digital wallet user experience. These functions should significantly decrease consumers ‘time to play,’ which is the key metric for patron adoption of cashless technology.

Sightline spearheaded the charge for gaming operators to be allowed to utilize remote identity verification. It successfully petitioned the Nevada Gaming Commission to change the state’s gaming regulations back in January of this year.

With the assistance of Sightline, Resorts can now allow its guests to enroll, verify and self-fund from anywhere worldwide in a matter of minutes. The partnership will be overseen by the Nevada Gaming Control Board and the products independently tested by Gaming Laboratories International.

Now, the Resorts World Las Vegas Mobile+ app will offer guests an omnichannel cashless wallet that uses biometric features on the patron’s mobile device for enhanced security and efficiency.

Patrons will no longer have to go through a two-step process to fund their cashless account, transferring between their Play+ account and their wagering account. Now they have a one-stop solution.

Sightline Co-CEO Omer Sattar commented: “We applaud Resorts World Las Vegas for being so forward-thinking, for working so diligently to create the best possible user experience, and for driving the whole industry forward.”

Resorts SVP of Casino Operators Rick Hutchins commented: “We knew when we launched the Mobile+ and Play+ technology it would be an iterative process as we would continue to make improvements along the way for our guests.

“Today, we’ve dramatically lessened the time and hassle for those who want to take advantage of cashless gaming and enroll in Genting Rewards when they visit our resort.”
