Nevada reports $1.28bn in total gaming win for October
This marks the 20th consecutive month that the Silver State exceeded $1bn in total gaming win.
Nevada has reported total gaming win for October amounting to $1.28bn, which represents a 5% increase from October 2021. This marks the 20th consecutive month that the Silver State’s total gaming win has eclipsed $1bn.
The increase for the fiscal year-to-date showed a 3% rise to $5.05bn by October this year. Clark County was the main contributor to this total, posting $1.1bn, $705.8m of which was produced by the Las Vegas Strip.
This marked a 2.2% year-on-year revenue increase for Clark County and a 2.5% annual bump for the Strip.
Meanwhile, Washoe County gaming win totaled 91.4m, a 5% year-on-year increase, while South Lake Tahoe posted $18.1m in revenue – a double-digit annual rise of 13%.
Elko County took $35.1m in gaming win, which was a 9.2% annual increase, and the Carson Valley Area contributed $11.9m in October 2022, a 4% increase. Other areas accounted for the remaining $19m in gaming win for the Silver State.
These results were taken positively by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, which noted that all these gaming win increases took place during a turbulent time for the US economy.
Looking at sports betting, American professional football led the way in Nevada, reporting $607m in handle, followed by baseball at $114.7m. Basketball came in third for gaming win, posting $79.2m.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board also stated that Nevada collected $76.4m in percentage fees during November 2022, based upon the taxable revenues generated in October 2022. This reflects an increase of 6% from the same prior-year period.
