Luke Combs was inducted into the Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame ahead of his line-up of sold-out shows at the Mohegan Sun Arena last weekend. The country superstar, current holder of Country Music Awards ‘Entertainer of the Year,’ is the 38th inductee into the casino’s Walk of Fame.
Mohegan Director of Sports and Entertainment Greg Romeyn presented Combs with this honor in a private ceremony backstage before his first show on Friday night. The country star performed to a packed-out arena of 9,300 fans on both Friday and Saturday as part of his ‘The Middle of Somewhere’ tour.
He has now performed three sold-out shows at Mohegan Sun Arena since making his debut in Uncasville, Connecticut in 2019.
After Combs’ Saturday show, he made a surprise appearance at an after-party where he gifted an autographed guitar to one of his fans. Combs also signed the autograph wall backstage at Mohegan Sun Arena, which has collected hundreds of autographs from celebrities and performers over the years.
Combs has a storied career. He is a member of the Grand Ole Opry, a renowned country music venue, and is additionally a six-time CMA, three-time ACM and three-time Billboard Music Award winner. His most recent album What You See Ain’t Always What You Get, debuted at Number 1. on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart as well as Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.
He was the first country artist to ever simultaneously rank on Rolling Stone’s Top 200 Albums, Top 100 Songs and the Artists 500 chart.
Mohegan’s Walk of Fame is host to such names as Bon Jovi, Kevin Hart, KISS, Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban, who are enshrined on plaques outside the Mohegan Sun box office forecourt. Prior to Combs, superstar comedian Chris Rock was the most recent inductee into the Walk of Fame in June.
