Verizon’s tools, services and techstack will be integrated into World Champion Fantasy's PlayerX platform.

A partnership between Verizon and World Champion Fantasy (WCF) has been reached and will see tools, services and techstack from Verizon integrated into the WCF PlayerX platform.

This multi-year contract will see Verizon support the online fantasy eSports platform offered by World Champion Fantasy.

Verizon Business Vice President of Business Markets Mike Caralis commented: "While the way we watch, interact and participate in esports evolves, PlayerX is leveraging 5G to deliver the pinnacle of immersive esports-meets-fantasy sports experiences for fans."

By using Verizon's 5G Ultra Wideband, fans of esports would be able to compete in fantasy leagues and create their own team of esports athletes and teams.

They can watch exclusive live feeds and access real-time stats; the PlayerX platform allows its subscribers to search across multiple platforms for the most updated information.

World Champion Fantasy CEO Mike Vela said: "At WCF, we’re fundamentally changing how gamers will experience Esports and Verizon is the only partner with the technological innovation, and industry savvy vision to help us completely advance and elevate our PlayerX platform.

"For the first time ever, users will be able to access seamless streaming player data and video through advanced capabilities and utilize one-touch video conference solutions, through BlueJeans, to create watch party and fan engagement environments.

"Through this partnership, gamers, streamers and fantasy players can have the most advanced and unmatched user experience."

StatHero CEO & Founder Jason Jaramillo joined the GI Huddle earlier this year to discuss the state of the fantasy sports market as a whole.
