The former Capri Lake Charles in southwest Louisiana has been updated as part of the Horseshoe rebrand. The casino will open on December 12 as Horseshoe Lake Charles, pending approval from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board.
The Lake Charles location closed more than two years ago due to the Covid-19 pandemic and because of damage caused by Hurricane Laura.
Horseshoe Lake Charles is a 60,000-total-square-foot property. Guests will have access to new rooms, a variety of restaurants, an official World Series of Poker room, and a collection of 1,000 slot machines and table games.
Caesars Entertainment President and COO Anthony Carano commented: "When we closed the Isle of Capri in 2020, we were not expecting the property to be shut down for this length of time.
"But we couldn't be prouder of our team and all of the hard work they've put into this beautiful property. We look forward to welcoming our partners and the community to celebrate with us as we commemorate this milestone and introduce them to Horseshoe Lake Charles."
Horseshoe Lake Charles SVP and General Manager Jeff Favre said the casino is ready to open its doors to guests again.
He commented: "The support from the Lake Charles community has been tremendous, and we can't wait to welcome our guests back to experience our all-new resort. After being closed for more than two years, to reopen as a Horseshoe casino is the cherry on top of a pretty spectacular celebration."
Caesars Entertainment recently partnered with SL Green Realty Corp in a development project to build an entertainment destination at New York City’s Times Square. The duo is in the process of pursuing licensing.
Both hope the new resort will boost the local economy and give guests a chance to enjoy Broadway shows, local stores, restaurants and comedy clubs while staying at Caesars Palace Times Square.
