The Ghostbusters and Big City 5-themed VGT games will be exclusive to IGT’s PeakSlant49 cabinet.

IGT has announced that its Ghostbusters-themed gaming terminal will be made available in Illinois, also launching the ‘Big City 5 Deluxe’ game in the Prairie State. The two ‘powerhouse’ brands will be made available in video gaming terminal (VGT) format, playable on IGT’s PeakSlant49 cabinet.

IGT SVP of global management, Ryan Reddy, commented: “IGT is incredibly excited to build upon the highly successful Big City 5’s brand and introduce the Ghostbusters game that was specially developed for the Illinois VGT market.

“This compelling game set combines the brand equity of a popular licensed theme with an enhanced version of a fan-favorite game that consistently performs as a top-three VGT game across North America. These games provide players with superior entertainment paired with the exceptional experience of the PeakSlant49 cabinet.”

The Ghostbusters game contains features that highlight recognizable elements from the beloved 80s movie, such as a Slimer wild feature and an Ecto-1 symbol swap. After any reel spin, there is a chance that the ‘Slimer wild trigger’ will be activated; if this happens three or more symbols will transform into wild symbols that offer higher win potential. If an Ecto-1 symbol apparates on the screen, symbols on the reel are replaced with new line-paying symbols.

The Big City 5 Deluxe game, meanwhile, now comes with ‘fever games’ bonuses. The bonus round is triggered when three to five ‘5’ symbols appear on reels 1-5, awarding 15, 20 and 25 fever games respectively. In addition, a brand new gold ‘5’ symbol has been introduced, which can trigger wheel bonuses.
