Aristocrat Gaming has announced that Joe Kaminkow is taking on a new and expanded position within the company as Chief Innovation Officer. Kaminkow will help drive innovation across Aristocrat’s enterprise, including in the development of new gaming products and mobile game genres.
Kaminkow’s long association with Aristocrat Gaming extends back to his initial appointment as SVP of game development in 2013. Prior to this, he held prominent roles in the gaming industry, acting as the chief creative officer at Zynga for over a decade. Furthermore, he worked as SVP of game design for SEGA in the 90’s, a decade when the Japanese company was most prominent in the video games sector.
At Zynga, Kaminkow led the development of social games, creating several original game titles himself. He holds over 130 patents throughout the fields of game design, operations and networks, and has either created or contributed game design intellectual property to more than 1,500 games. These include arcade games such as Laser War, Secret Service and the SEGA Space Jam pinball game.
Speaking on this new appointment, Kaminkow commented: “I am thrilled to expand my commitment to Aristocrat in a dedicated, full-time role, enabling me to devote my creative energies to all areas of the group's ongoing growth and success.
"I have been so impressed with the talent and drive of our employees over the past nine years and am excited to help Aristocrat take its next steps forward."
