The show will feature well-known Prince hits and a tribute to The Time.

Rivers Casino Pittsburgh has announced that Purple Reign, a Prince tribute band, will play on December 2 at The Event Center. The show starts at 7PM.

Prince fans will have the opportunity to hear Purple Reign play several Prince hits, including Little Red Corvette, When Doves Cry and Raspberry Beret. Tickets for the show are on sale now.

In a statement released by Rivers Casino, the venue commented about Purple Reign’s high-energy sets and the band’s dedication to embody Prince’s greatest hits.

The casino said: “Purple Reign captures the imagination and seamlessly recreates the blistering performances and raw energy of Prince in his prime and returns you to the era that made the artist an international superstar.”

The band will also offer up a tribute to Morris Day and The Time during the show.

Rivers Casino Pittsburgh Vice President of Marketing Shannon Redmond said the casino is excited to welcome Purple Reign to the venue.

Redmond commented: "Prince is a true icon. We’re thrilled to welcome Purple Reign here for a night of his greatest hits. Our guests are in for a night of hits and partying like it’s 1999 all over again!"

Purple Reign has achieved international acclaim during the past decade and has performed in 2008 as a musical guest on The Late Show with Dave Letterman. The band was the show’s first tribute/impersonator act.

Other acts scheduled to take the stage at The Event Center include famed comedian Tracy Morgan, who will perform on October 8 as part of his “No Disrespect” Tour, as well as rock and roll band Barenaked Ladies on November 5 at 7pm.
