Desert Diamond Casinos West Valley in Glendale, Arizona has initiated an online auction through LocalAuctions.com that allows the general public to bid on items from its interim casino. The auction is now open for public bidding and will continue until 7PM September 19.
Valley residents will also have access to an in-person preview on September 19 from 9AM to 3PM. The public can view the items up for auction during that time before choosing to purchase. Bidders will have until November 23 to pick up their items once they are sold.
The casino decided to hold the auction to clear its interim casino space. Once cleared, the area will be used for warehousing and storage. Desert Diamond Casinos West Valley has scheduled demolition for its interior space renovation project in October 2022.
LocalAuctions.com head of operations Chris Rushord commented: "It is not often the public is invited to purchase items from such a large organization. I think this is an amazing opportunity for valley residents to get a chance to buy a piece of the first casino to open in Glendale."
More than 200 items will be up for sale during the auction. Buyers will have a chance to bid on surveillance cameras, restaurant equipment, a complete bar, light up signs, kiosks, ceiling mount speakers, custom decorative lighting, decor and casino items.
Rushford noted that the public will have access to items not typically sold during public auctions. He said: "Even though there are no slot machines or gaming tables for auction, there are some amazing and unique items to bid on for businesses and residents alike.”
Desert Diamond Casinos West Valley opened its interim casino space in 2015. The casino has added a 75,000 square-foot entertainment and gaming venue since the original 49,000 square-foot interim facility was built.
