Beau Rivage Resort & Casino celebrated a milestone in its air charter program. The casino resort’s one millionth charter program passenger was welcomed in a red-carpet event when Sun Country Flight SCX 8179 landed at the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport inbound from the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport.
The flight’s 173 passengers, airport staff and Beau Rivage charter service employees celebrated with cake, champagne, photo ops and commemorative gifts as part of a celebration that began with a water cannon salute on the tarmac.
Beau Rivage began the program in 2009, shortly after its $550m post-Hurricane Katrina renovation. Since the launch, more than 8,000 flights from 90 cities around the country have been part of it.
Beau Rivage President and COO Brandon Dardeau commented: “MGM Resorts International guests from around the country love to visit the Gulf Coast and our goal with this program has always been to make that travel as easy as possible.
“The charter program has elevated all of Coastal Mississippi, including our 1,740-room AAA Four Diamond resort on the beach in Biloxi, from a regional destination to a national market.”
The casino resort partnered with Sun Country Airlines in 2014. Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport Executive Director Clay Williams commended Beau Rivage for the program’s success.
He said: “Beau Rivage has worked strategically over the years to exponentially grow its air charter program, bringing visitors to the Coast from 90 cities across the US.
“With this effort to attract additional fly-in visitors, the Beau Rivage air program has grown to comprise approximately 25 percent of the air service at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport.”
Sun Country Airlines Chief Revenue Officer Grant Whitney shared Williams’ enthusiasm.
Whitney commented: “We are thrilled to celebrate the one millionth passenger that our program has brought to this world-class property and are excited about our future relationship with MGM Resorts/Beau Rivage and their loyal customers.”
