The Fifth Street Gaming executive will sit on the compensation committee.

Skillz has named Seth Schorr, CEO of Fifth Street Gaming and Chairman of Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino, as a member of its board of directors. Duties in Schorr’s new role include serving on the company’s compensation committee of the board.

Skillz CEO Andrew Paradise said: “We’re incredibly excited to bring Seth Schorr and his extensive experience in interactive gaming and entertainment to our board as we embark on the next chapter of Skillz.”

Schorr holds a degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He started his career in the gaming and hospitality industry in 1991 at Wynn Resorts, where he assisted in the development of its Macau international marketing department and its Nevada gaming division.

Schorr later partnered with Jeffrey Fine to co-found Fifth Street Gaming. He launched Commercial Streaming Solutions in 2017. The company brought sports betting content to bars, casino and stadiums nationwide through its BettorView media platform.

Schorr sits on several boards in addition to his latest appointment, including The Las Vegas Natural History Museum, Nevada Restaurant Association, Jewish Federation of Las Vegas, Advisory Board of The Smith Center for Performing Arts, One Night for One Drop, and the Nevada State Board of Museums & History.

He is also the founder of the Nevada Esports Alliance and joined the Nevada Gaming Control Board’s Esports Technical Advisory Committee last year. He expressed his excitement to be a part of the Skillz team.

He commented: “Skillz has an incredibly bright future ahead, and it’s thrilling to join the board at this pivotal moment in the company’s journey.”

Skillz is a mobile games platform that aids developers in creating franchises through social competition. The company hosts global esports tournaments that are available to millions of players.
