This is the fifth year for the tournament.

Plaza Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has announced it will host the fifth annual Pickleball Open. The casino is the official title sponsor and hotel for the tournament.

This year’s Pickleball Open is scheduled for September 21 and will run through September 25. Players from around the globe will have a chance to compete for a $60,000 prize package that will be divided between the tournament’s grand prize, silver and bronze medalists.

The tournament is open to both amateur and professional players. This year’s Pickleball Open will offer both men’s and women’s singles and doubles matches, along with mixed doubles play. Professional and amateur mixed matches are also listed as competitive categories, as well as tournament play for seniors (those older than 50).

Event directors anticipate that more than 400 players will participate in this year’s tournament. Players can register on the casino’s website to enter the tournament. Competitors will have access to discounted rooms at the Plaza, as well as free slot play, bingo match play and complimentary room upgrades.

Plaza Hotel & Casino CEO Jonathan Jossel shared his excitement about the upcoming event.

He commented: “The Plaza has built a reputation as a premier pickleball destination. As a result, the Las Vegas Pickleball Open has welcomed hundreds of players from across the globe over the years, and it is very exciting that the event is celebrating its fifth anniversary on our rooftop courts.”

Pickleball is a combination of tennis, ping pong and badminton. More than three million players enjoy pickleball, making this one of the fastest growing racquet sports in the US.
