Continent 8 Technologies has released its Public Cloud solution in the Canadian province of Ontario. The Public Cloud solution has several features, including the ability to integrate with Continent 8’s Co-Location, DDoS protection, a self-service portal with template-based provisioning and other cybersecurity services.
The company’s product launch came from growing consumer demand now that the province offers legalized online gambling.
The Ontario market opened on April 4 and is the first Canadian province to commercial iGaming to its residents. Up to now, local lotteries have traditionally dominated Canada’s gambling sector. According to H2 Gambling Capital, Canada’s combined online sports betting and iCasino markets in 2022 are estimated at more than $2bn.
Continent 8 Technologies CEO and Founder Michael Tobin said: “Launching our solution in Toronto forms part of our wider expansion plans for North America, where we are growing rapidly to meet the demand for this vertical and other rewarding markets.
“Our customers can be assured that in Continent 8 they have an infrastructure partner that can support them in any location they need.”
The company’s Public Cloud platform is not a newcomer to the North American market. The platform has been in use in New Jersey’s Atlantic City since 2015.
Continent 8 Technologies Chief Product Officer Justin Cosnett said: “We have seen a surge in demand for our Public Cloud solution in Ontario since the province confirmed that it would be opening its doors to legal online gambling for the first time this month.
“Continent 8 is no stranger to providing its services in new markets globally. Our presence in Toronto forms part of our unrivalled connected network that spans four continents.”
