Boost in Colorado sports wagering licenses

Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission grants sports wagering licenses to three more casinos.
The Colorado Limited Gaming Control has awarded casinos sports wagering licenses to eight casinos during a special meeting on 2 April.
The five-member regulatory body also distributed temporary sports wagering operator licenses to Roar Digital, William Hill, Penn Sports and Rush Street Interactive, among other operators.
Casinos to receive sports betting licenses included Century Casino Cripple Creek and Bull Durham Hotel & Casino in Black Hawk.
Colorado plans to launch sports betting at the start of May, though it’s unclear whether any Colorado casinos will be open by then as the state’s casinos are closed through at least the end of April in response to COVID-19.
Dan Hartman, Director of the Colorado Division of Gaming, said with a shelter-in-place directive issued through at least the end of April, the liklihood of getting back to normal directly afterward isn’t realistic.
“Is starting on May 1 the end all be all with the safety and all the other health issues going on around the world?” he told Gaming America.
