Betsson launches online gambling in Buenos Aires
The company continues to strengthen its Latin American presence by partnering with local operators.
Betsson has partnered with Casino de Victoria, a land-based operator in Argentina and part of Grupo Mautone, as part of an effort to grow in its Latin American market. The two have been granted a license to operate in region of Buenos Aires.
The city and the province are now live and offer online sports betting, casino slots, table games and horse racing to Argentinian players.
Argentina has been no stranger to the land-based gambling market, but online gambling throughout the country is something that is relatively new.
Operations in the City of Buenos Aires began on January 6, 2022 from the license granted by the City Lottery.
Betsson launched in the Province of Buenos Aires on January 17, 2022, after obtaining the license granted by the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos.
Betsson AB is a holding company and the parent company of the Betsson brand. Pontus Lindwall, CEO of Betsson AB, said acquiring these licenses falls in line with the company’s strategy for expansion in the Latin American market.
Lindwall said, “The launch in Argentina signifies yet another milestone in LatAm and further strengthens Betsson’s market presence in the region. The license for the Province of Buenos Aires, together with the license for the City of Buenos Aires, cement our position in the region,”
