This move will consolidate all marketing functions under Sherman’s leadership.

DraftKings has named Stephanie Sherman as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to this, Sherman served as the company’s Senior Vice President of Marketing.

Part of her duties as CMO will include overseeing brand and agency campaigns, media buying and influencer strategy. All marketing functions will fall under her leadership with this position.

Sherman first joined DraftKings in 2013 and said she’s excited to step into her new role.

“When I started at DraftKings nine years ago, there was a genuine and collective sense that we were building something special, and zooming out to today, that has been validated more than I could have ever imagined,” said Sherman. “For all the accomplishments we’ve celebrated and adversity we’ve overcome, I take on this new position knowing there is still so much opportunity ahead along with brilliant people ready to deliver.”

DraftKings credits Sherman for helping guide the company’s ongoing business expansion for nearly a decade in the areas of daily fantasy, sports betting, online casino and digital collectibles.

She has also been recognized the past two years by Adweek as one of the “Most Powerful Women in Sports.”

Matt Kalish, Co-Founder and President of DraftKings North America said Sherman has made a large contribution to DraftKings’ growth and success.

“Since our early days as an insurgent daily fantasy business, Stephanie has been a driving force of our growth and contributed hugely to DraftKings becoming a household name and a global, multi-product digital entertainment company enjoyed by millions of consumers,” said Kalish. “Stephanie’s consistently strong performance has earned the respect of the entire DraftKings team and she is recognized as one of our industry’s most dynamic marketing minds. I am thrilled to elevate Stephanie as our Chief Marketing Officer and gain her integral perspective within our executive leadership team.”
