Jeff Platt leaves PokerGO to join WSOP in expanded host and producer role

Veteran poker broadcaster Jeff Platt announced he is joining the WSOP full-time, expanding his role as host and producer while focusing on player engagement and the viewing experience ahead of 2026.
Jeff Platt, one of the most recognizable voices in modern poker broadcasting, announced that he has officially joined the World Series of Poker as a full-time employee, marking a major shift in his professional journey and a notable moment for poker media.
“Today is my first day as an employee at WSOP,” Platt shared. “I strongly believe in the vision for poker’s biggest and best series in the world, and I greatly look forward to helping to build the brand.”
Platt has been a central figure in poker coverage for years, most recently with PokerGO, where he served as a lead host and commentator on some of the game’s biggest stages. His work on the WSOP Main Event broadcast has earned widespread praise, and he called being part of that coverage “the honor of my career.”

An Expanded Role With the World Series of Poker
Under this new arrangement, Platt’s involvement with the WSOP will grow well beyond the commentary booth. He will serve in an expanded role as both a host and a producer, helping shape not only how the World Series is presented, but how it evolves.
“I’m thrilled to expand the partnership with the WSOP in an expanded role, as both a host and a producer,” Platt said. “I can’t wait for you all to see the team’s vision for the 2026 World Series of Poker come to life.”
The move signals a broader commitment by the WSOP to invest in its broadcast product and long-term brand strategy, particularly as poker continues to balance live events with global streaming audiences.
This is not a goodbye, but I do want to take a moment to thank the entire team @PokerGO for the opportunities that they've given me throughout the years.@buffalohanks, who somehow became CEO and somehow became one of my best friends…what a treat it was to share the broadcast…

Focus on Player Engagement and the Viewing Experience
A central theme of Platt’s announcement was player engagement, something he emphasized as a key pillar of the deal.
“Player engagement is a really important facet of this deal, to both me and the WSOP,” Platt said. “As a player myself (not a very good one), I can help to strengthen the bridge that connects the WSOP and its community.”
Platt made it clear that while he won’t be able to accommodate every request, he is committed to listening.
“I don’t promise to accommodate every single request. I do promise to genuinely listen to your thoughts and concerns, and to continuously work on improving the player experience. My DMs are open.”
Beyond players, Platt also highlighted the importance of the viewer experience, whether fans are watching at home via livestream or standing on the rail at a final table. He said he is eager to work directly on improving how poker is presented and to gather ideas from the broader poker community on how to “continue to raise the bar.”
A New Chapter for WSOP Media
Platt’s move comes at a time when the WSOP is clearly signaling a renewed focus on storytelling, production value and community connection.
His combination of on-air credibility, behind-the-scenes experience and strong rapport with players positions him as a key figure in shaping the future of poker’s most iconic brand.
He ended his announcement with a phrase that longtime viewers will recognize as a nod to the drama of the biggest moments in the game:
“DIM. THE. LIGHTS.”
For the WSOP, and for poker fans, the message is clear: a new chapter is beginning.
