AGEM Index shows points and percentage increase during December 2021

The AGEM Index improved by 11.39 points to reach 971.59 points during December 2021, marking a 1.2% increase from the prior month.

AGEM is an international trade association representing manufacturers of electronic gaming devices, systems, lotteries, and components for the gaming industry. The association works to further the interests of gaming equipment manufacturers throughout the world.

The AGEM Index saw significant rises in points and percentages since 2020. Compared to one year ago, the index increased by 284.47 points for an annual growth rate of 41.4%. Seven of the AGEM Index companies reported stock price increases in the latest period. This spike led to eight companies posting positive contributions and four companies recording negative contributions to the overall index.

International Game Technology PLC (IGT) was the top contributor to the monthly index. IGT had a 7% increase in stock price, which led to a 7.98-point gain for the index. Scientific Games Corporation (SGMS) was also a significant contributor to the overall growth in the index, adding 5.65 points. This was a result of its 4.6% rise in stock price.

Konami Corporation was the largest negative contributor, whose 5% drop in stock price led to an 8.48-point decrease in the AGEM Index.

All three major US stock indices increased over the month of December, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 experiencing increases of 5.4% and 4.4%, respectively. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq experienced a 0.8% increase.
