Tradeshow ICE London to proceed as scheduled in early February

Concerns about the pandemic have prompted suggestions to postpone the tradeshow again.

Concerns regarding the Omicron variant of Covid-19 amid the ongoing pandemic have raised the question of whether ICE London should be postponed again to this spring. At this time, the event is scheduled to go on as planned in February. The tradeshow is scheduled for February 1 through February 3, 2022.

“We will always do what is right for the industry and deliver the event our customers want including both the operators and suppliers. Currently ICE is going ahead,” said Alex Pratt, Clarion Gaming Group Managing Director. "However, we are monitoring the situation 24/7 and will respond if we need to.”

Clarion Gaming, the event’s organizer, announced there will be a press briefing on December 17. There has been no indication at this time of any plans to postpone or cancel.

This tradeshow is considered by many to be the largest gaming tradeshow in the world and had been delayed twice already and then canceled in 2021 due to pandemic concerns.

Rumors have circulated that ICE London could be postponed to spring at the request of the AGEM (Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers).

Given the fact there has been no rendition of one of the biggest shows on the calendar, and certainly the biggest for online gaming firms, there is an eagerness from both organizer Clarion and the industry to go ahead with the event.

Should further regulations make this an impossibility, Clarion will no doubt review its stance.
