International Game Technology released its global responsible gaming policy Wednesday, created to inform and educate relevant shareholders about the company’s programs and solutions to promote fair play and comply with country-by-country requirements and regulations on responsible gaming.
The London-based gaming supplier’s three main goals in its global responsible gaming policy are to promote proactive tools to prevent problem gambling, to support responsible gaming organizations that address problem gambling and to prevent underage gambling.
"Responsible Gaming is a cornerstone of all that we do at IGT, and an aspect of our business where we demonstrate leadership among gaming and lottery suppliers," said Wendy Montgomery, IGT SVP, Global Brand, Marketing and Communications. "In publishing IGT's Responsible Gaming Policy, we demonstrate important transparency about the tenets of our commitments and the exemplary standard to which we hold our employees, products and partners."
IGT incorporates responsible gaming tools in its products, systems, games and portals that help safeguard players’ interests and address regulators’ concerns.
IGT casino games allow for the operator to display responsible gaming information at their discretion with advice provided from IGT. Screens often include information about the signs of a gambling problem, responsible gaming guidelines, and where to go for help if someone is experiencing a gambling problem.
IGT recently put out a new responsible gaming application through the Advantage and Casinolink casino management systems, which can be used as either a back-office tool or with direct interaction with players, allowing customers to set their own limits, see their gaming history, and get notifications about reaching their time, wagers, loss, and visits limits.
The PlaySports sports betting platform gives operators features such as match-fixing detection, excessive gambling identification and management, and anti-money-laundering processes to detect suspicious betting patterns.
