Nevada Governor Sisolak appoints two to Gaming Commission

Jennifer Togliatti will serve as the NGC’s first female chair.
Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak has appointed Judge Jennifer Togliatti and former state senator Ben Kiechhefer to the five-member Nevada Gaming Commission (NGC).
The NGC’s responsibilities include acting on the recommendations of the Nevada Gaming Control Board in licensing matters and ruling upon permit appeal cases.
The Commission serves as the final authority on licensing matters and has the power to approve, restrict, limit, condition, deny, revoke or suspend any gaming license.
“Both Judge Togliatti and Senator Kieckhefer are highly qualified appointments to these positions, and I am glad to have them continue their service to the Silver State by serving on the Nevada Gaming Commission,” Gov. Sisolak said. “This commission is the gold standard of gaming regulation, and these appointments will continue to honor that.”
Togliatti will serve as the first female chair of the commission. A retired Senior Nevada state court judge, Togliatti spent approximately two decades as a judge on Nevada’s Eighth Judicial District Court. She served as Chief Judge from 2011 to 2014.
“She has experience related to all aspects of litigation, criminal and civil, including complex business disputes,” the governor’s office said.
Kieckhefer has spent the last decade serving in the Nevada state senate. A Republican, Kieckhefer represented parts of Washoe County, home to Reno.
Kieckhefer resigned his post to join the NGC.
Togliatti and Kieckhefer will replace former commission members Deborah Fuetsch and John Moran Jr. The NGC next meets on Oct. 28.
