The company also announced new leadership appointments.

Rush Street Interactive (RSI) has today announced an agreement with the Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC) to serve as the organization's exclusive betting partner across mobile, online and retail.

The agreement, set to last 10 years, will see RSI provide the CLC with its sports betting platform to take advantage of the growing market. The partnership is subject to RSI’s receipt of a license from the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection. RSI will have the right to operate state-wide via an online platform and will also be given the opportunity to open sportsbooks at 15 land-based locations, including in Hartford and Bridgeport.

“We are honored to be selected by the CLC to bring sports betting to the state and people of Connecticut,” said Richard Schwartz (pictured), RSI’s newly appointed CEO. “This partnership represents a significant milestone for RSI, as the trust and confidence of a state-backed organization such as the CLC further validates the strength of our award-winning online gaming platform and customer service. Building on our proven track record of success in the tri-state area, where RSI was an early entrant in New Jersey and is the market leader in retail sports betting among New York’s commercial casinos, we are thrilled to collaborate with the CLC team to offer Connecticuters safe, convenient, and unique gaming experiences.”

Eleven of the RSI-operated sportsbooks will be located in seven of the state’s 10 most populous cities, allowing over a quarter of the state’s population to easily access sports betting.

RSI has also simultaneously announced the appointment of a new CEO and a new vice chairman. Richard Schwartz, co-founder and president, has been promoted to chief executive officer and Greg Carlin has been named vice chairman, effective immediately. Schwartz will also join the company’s board of directors.

“I am honored to lead RSI at this time of tremendous growth for our company and industry, and am humbled by the trust that Greg and the board have placed in me,” said Schwartz. “Greg has positioned RSI for success and our opportunities continue to expand, from new market launches to innovative product offerings and strategic marketing programs. As we look to the future, RSI will remain relentlessly focused on operational excellence and trying to delight our players with helpful, transparent customer service while refining our best-in-class technology platform.”

RSI is currently operating in 10 jurisdictions throughout the United States, as well as Colombia.  According to a July 2021 report from industry market research firm, Eilers & Krejcik, RSI is the sports betting market leader in Illinois, Pennsylvania and New York, and is a top-five online sports betting company in the US per gross gaming revenues over the past 12 months.
