Arizona casinos begin rolling out Las Vegas-style table games

Several Arizona casinos are rolling out Las Vegas-style table games this week including live roulette, craps and baccarat after tribes agreed to a new gaming compact with the state earlier this year.
Arizona’s tribal casinos could previously only offer card games like poker and blackjack.
The amended gaming compact signed by Gov. Doug Ducey in April also allows tribal casinos to operate thousands more slots and open at least four new casinos.
Arizona’s 16 gaming tribes agreed to allow off-reservation sports betting in exchange for expanded gaming at their casinos. Tribes currently operate 22 casinos in the state.
Casino Del Sol in Tucson will be one of the first casinos to debut Las Vegas-style table games when tables open at 9:30 a.m. PST Wednesday August 11.
“We pride ourselves on providing an impressive collection of gaming options for our guests, so we are thrilled to introduce these new, interactive games to the floor,” said CEO of Casino Del Sol, Kimberly Van Amburg. “Our players no longer have to travel to another state to play these games, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to the Sonoran Desert to enjoy the expanded gaming offerings.”
Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino now includes baccarat and craps among its table games.
Gila Rivers Hotels & Casinos Wild Horse Pass in Chandler offers 14 live roulettes, baccarat and craps tables in addition to six midi baccarat tables, six high-limit blackjack tables and one high-limit roulette table.
“This is truly a historic moment in our 27-year history that will benefit both the Gila River Indian Community and the state by providing additional jobs and tourism, as well as increased opportunities to support the community,” Gila River Hotels & Casinos CEO Kenneth Manuel said.
The renewed Arizona gaming compact lasts for 20 years.
