Circa partners with Aruba for connectivity network

Circa Resort and Casino has partnered with edge-to-cloud networking solutions company Aruba to power connectivity across the 35-story, 77-room resort.

Aruba will provide its Edge Services Platform, a “cloud-native approach to helping customers meet their connectivity, security, and financial requirements across campus, branch, data center, and remote worker environments, covering all aspects of wired, wireless LAN, and wide area networking (WAN).”

The Santa Clara, California based Aruba is a Hewitt Packard Enterprise company. Aruba has committed to saving Circa nearly $500,000 with its wired, wireless and security solutions.

“Delivering today’s socially driven premier entertainment experiences in Las Vegas is a 24/7 endeavor,” said Paul Ballard, CIO at Circa. “Aruba supplied the full stack of AI-enabled wired and wireless networking innovations essential for running a successful operation.”

Aruba will also supply solutions for Circa satellite locations in Nevada, Colorado and other jurisdictions.

Providing a wireless network for the downtown Las Vegas Circa Resort & Casino is no easy task. Aruba will implement six Wi-Fi indoor access points (AP), outdoor APs, hospitality APs and mobility controllers. Circa will implement Aruba aggregation switches at the edge and CX Series switches in its data center for wired networking.

“The challenges of opening a new property during a pandemic can’t be understated,” Ballard said. “No matter what time of day or night, Aruba provided us the right level of support resources for resolving issues quickly, which helped us stay on track to meet our opening day timeline.”

Aruba’s technology also gives Circa a new network for its Garage Mahal. The transportation hub will eventually include a downtown terminal for Boring Company’s Vegas Loop project.

“With our Aruba network, we can provide Wi-Fi to our guests and to transportation providers in Garage Mahal, as well as deploy the latest in security solutions and connected elevators to help keep everyone safe in transit,” said John Palma, manager of Information Technology Network Engineering at Circa.

Circa opened its doors on October 28, 2020 as downtown Las Vegas’ first new ground-up resort in four decades.
