New resort will open its doors on June 24.

The Nevada Gaming Commission gave its approval to Genting Group, allowing the operator to open Resorts World Las Vegas on June 24, as planned.

Resorts World Las Vegas is being developed by Genting Berhad, a publicly traded Malaysian corporation registered with the Nevada Gaming Commission. The company has affiliated operations in the Americas, Malaysia, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the Bahamas.

The $4.3-billion project has been in the works for six years. It is the first ground-up resort development on the Las Vegas Strip in more than a decade.

Resorts World LV will have 3,500 rooms, more than 40 restaurants and lounges, and a 5,000-seast theater. Celine Dion, Carrie Underwood, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan already are booked to appear over the next several months.

The casino is going all-in on food, with a partnership with Zouk Group, a Singapore-based nightlife and lifestyle brand, to create Famous Foods Street Eats, an interactive, 24,000-square-foot, Southeast Asian street food destination.

In addition, there are dining and beverage destinations designated by type of service: Signature restaurants, casual eateries and on-the-go options, and bars and lounges.

The headline signature restaurant is ¡VIVA!, described as a modern take on regional Mexican cuisine.

Also in this category are Genting Palace, featuring authentic Cantonese cuisine, seafood and dim sum; Kusa Nori, a Japanese bistro with a sushi bar and teppanyaki grills; Brezza, with upscale coastal Italian fare; and Bar Zazu, a European café.

The casual category takes several popular restaurants from other cities, including Craig's Vegan, a frozen treats joint from Los Angeles, Tacos El Cabrón, Tijuana-inspired Mexican street food from San Diego, Richie Palmer's Mulberry Street Pizzeria of Beverly Hills for pizza by the slice from 90210, and Sun's Out Buns Out, which will offer egg dishes all day, every day.

Bars and lounges will be led by the Dawg House Saloon & Sportsbook, a transplant from Nashville, Starlight on 66, which, as the name implies, will be on the 66th floor, and Crystal Bar, which will feature cascading crystal-shaped pendants.
