Choice Hotels International, Inc., on Wednesday said Penn National Gaming casino resorts now are part of its loyalty program.
The hotel franchisor clearly was hoping to tap pent-up demand after more than a year of Covid-related stay-at-home orders in many states as it announced a spring savings promotion.
Jamie Russo, vice president, loyalty programs and customer engagement for Choice Hotels, said members of the loyalty program who book and stay at participating Choice Hotels properties will save 20% when arriving Sunday to Wednesday, or 15% when arriving Thursday to Saturday.
Guests can earn points for future stays at Choice-branded hotels and all-inclusive AMResorts properties in addition to the recently added Penn National resorts, Russo said.
“We know travelers are looking to hit the road again, especially as the weather warms up around the country, so we are offering a little something extra to make those weekday or weekend trips even more rewarding,” Russo said in a statement.
Of course, the pandemic is not over, and in an effort to address those who might be hesitant to go back to a hotel, the company said all Choice-branded hotels are participating in “Commitment to Clean,” which it described as an initiative that includes enhanced training and best practices for deep cleaning, disinfecting and social distancing.
Choice Hotels International is one of the largest lodging franchisors in the world. It has more than 7,100 hotels, representing nearly 600,000 rooms, in some 40 countries and territories as of December 31, 2020.
