Deals are part of online operator’s entry into the US market.

Online betting and gaming operator Betway on Wednesday said it has signed partnership deals with six NBA and NHL teams.

The branding deals are with five NBA franchises: the Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, LA Clippers and Golden State Warriors.
On the ice, Betway is partnering with the four-time Stanley Cup Champion, New York Islanders.
In addition, the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings (pictured) will feature Betway’s brand via in-game and other digital assets.

The company noted it has entered into an exclusive brand license agreement with Digital Gaming Corporation (DGC) for the use of the Betway brand in the US.
DGC said it has secured market access in a number of US states in which it will use the global Betway brand for its sports betting and igaming offering.

According to Anthony Werkman, Betway’s CEO, the branding deals are part of the company’s strategy to partner with high-profile teams in high-profile sports.

“It is a very exciting time for the Betway brand as we enter the USA through our licensee partner DGC, and we are delighted to have secured initial deals with six prestigious US sports teams,” Werkman said in a statement.

Werkman also said the partnerships mean Betway’s branding will be seen courtside and rinkside in some of the biggest arenas in North America.
“Our brand is recognized globally as offering a fair, safe and responsible environment in which to place wagers, and we look forward to US customers enjoying a similar experience,” Werkman added.

Betway Group is based in Malta and Guernsey. It was launched in 2006 and provides entertainment across sports betting, casino and esports betting. It holds licenses in several regulated markets, including the UK, Malta, Italy, Denmark, Spain, Belgium, Germany and Ireland.
