IPLyC projects 36% growth and reinforces social role in Misiones

Key Points
- IPLyC expects social programmes to receive over ARS1.9bn in 2026
- Initiatives already reach 65 municipalities and 25,000 people in Misiones
- Responsible gambling efforts focus on prevention among young people
Argentina’s Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos (IPLyC) has presented its growth projection before the Chamber of Representatives.
According to President Héctor Rojas Decut, resources stem not only from gaming revenues but also from prize payouts, agency commissions, salaries, supplier contracts and social initiatives.
IPLyC’s management is centered on three priorities: strengthening social programmes that already reach 65 municipalities, supporting the sales network with new tools for agencies and combating unlicensed online gambling in cooperation with the Cybercrime Prosecutor’s Office.
“We want to protect young people and their families from the economic and emotional consequences of illegal online gambling,” said Rojas Decut.
He also emphasised the territorial presence of social programmes, including Mirar Mejor, which offers free ophthalmological care in 45 municipalities and aims to reach 60 by the end of 2025.
Other projects also benefitted more than 25,000 people in the first half of this year. “Being alongside every neighbour is the spirit that guides our daily work,” he added.
Good to know: The Province of Salta recently approved a bill banning child support debtors from accessing casinos and stadiums
Responsible gambling has also been reinforced, with school talks covering early detection of gambling problems, the social and emotional impact of betting and the myth of “easy money.”
Additional initiatives include prevention of adolescent gambling through activities and the short film competition Reflejos en el Azar, which involved students from different provinces across the country.
