Virginia casino revenue climbs 42.8% to $84.7m for July 2025

The Virginia Lottery has released the financial performance of the three casinos currently operating within the state throughout July 2025, as total revenue increased 42.8% from the prior year period to $84.7m.
Caesars Virginia, Rivers Casino Portsmouth and Hard Rock Bristol each report monthly revenues to the state regulator, as Caesars Virginia produced the highest total for July 2025 at nearly $35.1m and increasing 86.5% year-over-year.
Rivers Casino Portsmouth and Hard Rock Bristol both witnessed revenue growth from the prior year period throughout the month, reporting July 2025 totals of $26.8m and $22.9m, respectively, equating to increases of 4.2% and 54.3%.
The three properties paid $16.6m in taxes to the state, including $5.3m to the host cities in which the casinos currently operate. At the time of writing, over $11.1m is available in Virginia’s Gaming Proceeds Funds, which helps support problem gambling treatment as well as families and children in need.

Caesars Entertainment celebrated the full grand opening of its Caesars Virginia property on December 17, 2024, featuring a fireworks display, ribbon-cutting event, race car parade and an appearance from NBA Hall-of-Famer Dennis Rodman.
The property hosts 90,000 sq ft of gaming space on its casino floor, including nearly 1,500 slot machines, 79 live-action table games, 48 electronic table games, a World Series of Poker room and Caesars sportsbook.
