Authorities across the Quillota province in Chile have taken part in a major training session focused on Law No. 19.995, the legislation that governs the operation and oversight of licensed casinos in the country.
The event brought together over 80 officials from local municipalities, Carabineros (Chile’s national police force), the national Investigative Police (PDI), the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Ministry of the Interior and Public Seceurity.
The initiative was organised by the Presidential Provincial Delegation of Quillota in coordination with the Superintendency of Casinos and Gaming (SCJ), which led the technical presentations.
The training addressed legal, technical and enforcement-related aspects of casino operations, with four dedicated thematic blocks.
According to Quillota’s presidential delegate, José Raúl Orrego Ramírez, the session served to clarify that any casino not authorised under Law 19.995 is considered illegal.

“All municipalities now have clear information: casinos that are not regulated by this law are illegal. We will continue working to prevent their operation,” he stated.
From the regional Ministry of Public Security, advisor Óscar Balcarce Alfaro noted the session’s cross-sector approach, stating the meeting “was key to improving coordination among institutions, strengthening enforcement and contributing to public safety in our communities.”
The event concluded with a call to maintain institutional commitment in combatting illegal gambling.
