MGCB reports growth of 24.9% for iGaming and sports wagering in June 2025

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has reported the state’s iGaming and sports wagering activity throughout June 2025, as the gaming types combined to generate $285.2m in gross receipts for the period, equating to an increase of 24.9% year-over-year.
iGaming managed to increase its revenue from the prior year period by 37.3% for a total of $226m in adjusted gross receipts (AGR), while sports betting produced $30.5m of AGR after reporting a deficit of $28.2m in June 2024.
However, both gaming types failed to increase its revenue from May 2025, as iGaming AGR fell by 4.3% from the prior month period, while sports wagering AGR decreased by 14.4% month-over-month.
The state regulator also reported a June 2025 sports wagering handle of $302.7m, equating to an increase of nearly 9.4% from the prior year period but once again decreased by 21.6% when compared to May 2025.
Detroit’s three commercial casinos reported $12.3m in wagering taxes and municipal service fees paid to the city for June 2025, including $11.8m for iGaming taxes and an additional $527,932 in sports wagering payments.

Tribal operators also made contributions to its respective governing bodies throughout June 2025, totaling $5.8m for the month.
Online operators submitted $48.9m in state taxes and payments for June 2025, with iGaming taxes and fees accounting for $47.1m of the total while internet sports betting required a payment of $1.8m for the month.
