Israeli company uses AI to edit video from live sports broadcasts.

FanDuel Group on Friday said it has partnered with WSC Sports to push real-time highlights of golf events to FanDuel Sportsbook app users.

WSC Sports is a Tel Aviv-based startup that uses AI to generate highlights from live sports broadcasts. The company said its technology platform automates the creation of highlights for more than 150 leagues and broadcast partners across the globe, including the NHL, NBA, ESPN, YouTubeTV, FIBA, Eleven Sports, NASCAR and Bleacher Report.

New York-based FanDuel Group is a subsidiary of Flutter Entertainment plc.

WSC said its technology currently automates the highlights editing process for 17 sports. The company’s AI automatically analyzes live sports broadcasts, identifies events and then creates customized, short-form video content that can be delivered to any digital destination.

The partnership between FanDuel Group and WSC Sports will launch with golf-specific content, but the two companies said it allows for the opportunity to expand into other sports.

According to a statement released by FanDuel and WSC, this marks the first time a US sports betting operator will deliver highlights packages to its bettors.

Adam Kaplan, GM/VP of sports content, FanDuel Group, said the partnership with WSC takes the FanDuel Sportsbook app experience beyond just placing a bet.

“Now our customers will get the best highlights pushed to them each week to consume and act on,” Kaplan said. “Part of our ongoing focus is providing a fully integrated experience that gives our customers the ability to follow and interact in real-time with the sports they care about.”

Aviv Arnon, CBDO, WSC Sports added: “Both WSC Sports and FanDuel work with the biggest names and brands in sports, providing a synergy between our two teams. Both companies’ technological innovations aim to enhance the sports fan experience, and we are looking forward to dually accomplishing those stated goals.”
