New York sports betting revenue soars to $3.6m in January

New York’s four commercial casino sportsbooks earned a total $3.6m in January gross revenue according to figure released by the state Gaming Commission.
The Rivers Sportsbook at Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady led the way with $1.4m, one of three New York sportsbooks to set a monthly record in January. That figure was up from $950,000 December revenue and topped Rivers’ previous record of $1.1m set in October of last year.
Right behind was the DraftKings Sportsbook at Del Lago in Waterloo, which brought in revenue of $1.3m. January marked the first time that Del Lago and DraftKings topped the $1m mark.
Resorts World Catskills in Monticello finished third with $480,000, a significant improvement from the $109,000 it earned in December. January was the second-best month for Resorts World’s sportsbook, trailing only October 2019’s $506,000.
Rounding out the group was the FanDuel Sportsbook at Tioga Downs in Nichols, which generated revenue of $390,000. That too is a record for Tioga and FanDuel.
