Key points:

- BetMGM stated that Gretzky Light the Lamp will be made available in additional iGaming markets pending regulatory approval

- Gretzky also stars in an advertising campaign for BetMGM, having originally signed on as an Ambassador during 2021

BetMGM has launched its new Gretzky Light the Lamp slot game exclusively in New Jersey and Michigan on its BetMGM Casino platform, with fellow iGaming markets to follow pending regulatory approval.

The slot game features NHL Hall-of-Famer Wayne Gretzky, who originally agreed to become an Ambassador of BetMGM during 2021 after signing a multi-year agreement with the operator.

"The ability to bring ‘Vegas Magic’ to its players is one of the biggest reasons BetMGM is so unique. Gretzky Light the Lamp is a great combined example of my role as a BetMGM ambassador and the company’s constant innovation,” Gretzky said.

Gretzky Light the Lamp is a 25-line, five-by-three slot game with a hockey theme that includes free spins and wild re-spins, while also serving as the first game to showcase Spectacular Link and Spectacular Link Frenzy.

Good to know: BetMGM and Enteractive agreed to a partnership related to customer engagement and retention on February 6

“Wayne Gretzky’s historic legacy in hockey makes him a wonderful ambassador for BetMGM. We are honored to create a game that showcases his likeness and brings the excitement of lighting the lamp to iGaming,” BetMGM VP of Gaming Product & Content Oliver Bartlett said.

Gretzky will also star in BetMGM’s new advertising campaign, Vegas Magic, which highlights how live dealer games from BetMGM Casino let players “feel the magic of Vegas” in their own homes. The television spot finishes with Gretzky at the blackjack table making a reference to his famous jersey number 99.
