- This latest announcement acts as a key indicator of increasing engagement with RG practices from bettors in the US
FanDuel has announced that its new responsible gambling dashboard, My Spend, was engaged with by nearly half of its customers during NFL season 2024/25.
The tool, which supplies bettors with insights into their spending, deposit and general wagering activity, reached engagement figures that totaled 3.5 million during the most recent season of the NFL. Indeed, this number makes up almost half of FanDuel’s total customer base in the US.
More specifically, My Spend allows players to observe betting activity that dates back over three months – alongside encouraging patrons to access additional responsible wagering tools offered by FanDuel.
Commenting on these latest statistics, Jill Watkins, FanDuel Senior Commercial Director of Responsible Gaming, expressed that she was encouraged by the latest figures, saying, "We want our customers to know what they are spending and to ensure they are within their comfort zone.
“Since the launch of My Spend, we've seen a meaningful rise in engagement with tools that give our customers the ability to create a personalized plan to manage their play. We're encouraged by the progress and remain steadfast in our commitment to making responsible play a natural part of the FanDuel experience for all customers."
Good to know: FanDuel initially launched My Spend in December 2024, with these recent engagement figures coming from its initial six weeks in operation
Additional recent RG news from the US market saw the AGA release a report highlighting a total annual investment of $472m in responsible gambling – up 72% from figures reported in 2017. More recently, last month the Responsible Gambling Council also announced a collaboration with the NFL, setting up a training program for university and college student-athletes.
For FanDuel, this latest announcement falls in the wake of the conclusion of its MLBPA lawsuit – with the company having reached a settlement in November. More recently, the operator announced two additions to its Government Relations team in December, a move that was closely followed by the launch of its sportsbook in Puerto Rico last month.
