Maryland Lottery and Gaming has reported revenue from the state’s six privately owned casinos during November, which generated $158.1m in revenue and increased by just over $400k year-over-year.
Casino gaming contributions throughout the month were nearly $68.9m, which represents a 4.2% increase from the prior year period. The contributions made included $49.7m being given to the state’s Education Trust Fund, almost $2m more than what was generated during November 2023.
While the $158.1m figure indicates a rise year-over-year, it comes in slightly less than what was generated throughout October. Maryland’s gaming revenue during October was reported to be $160.5m, decreasing by more than $2m during November.
Revenues made by casinos also support the communities and jurisdictions where the properties are located, Maryland’s horse racing industry and small, minority- and women-owned businesses.
MGM National Harbor reported the highest revenue of the six casinos, generating $65.5m but decreasing 1.6% year-over year. Live! Casino & Hotel was a close second with a total of $60.3m, managing to increase by 3.9% from the prior year period.
