US July gross gaming revenue reaches $5.71bn

The American Gaming Association has published its gaming revenue report for the month of July.
The organization reported a 3.1% boost in US commercial gaming revenue when compared to results it posted one year ago.
US gaming revenue has continued to grow for the past three years. The report showed that the industry has reflected monthly annual growth for the past 41 months.
Year to date, commercial gaming revenue nationwide has reached $41.23bn, the AGA reported. Revenue for 2024 has exceeded last year’s total by 7.2%.
Industry win from sports betting, iGaming and traditional casino games in the US climbed to $5.71bn, reaching an all-time high for July.
Legal sports betting, iGaming and legal casino gaming verticals posted a combined total of $1.24bn in state tax gaming revenue during July. These markets have paid $8.93bn in gaming taxes during 2024 so far.
Online gaming revenue has continued to increase this year as well. The AGA reported that online sports betting and iGaming generated $1.48bn during July, a 35.4% rise year-over-year.
However, land-based gaming revenue fell by 4.8% when compared to results posted in July 2023. Total land-based gaming revenue reached $4.22bn during the month of July.

The scale was developed by Dr. Jonathan Ross Gilbert and Dr. Marla Stafford. This resource is available for use at no cost.
Along with this new tool, the AGA recently published its legal wagering estimate for this year’s NFL season.
The AGA projects that American adults will place $35bn in legal bets with sportsbooks during football season, more than any other year.
Estimates are based on previous research the AGA conducted during last year’s NFL season. American sports fans bet close to $26.7bn on football in 2023, according to data collected.
