The new construction follows other improvements made over the past year including an expanded outdoor pool and the debut of the Overlook event space.

The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa Atlantic City has announced that beginning in September, the property will begin significant upgrades to its casino floor in hopes of infusing the space with “fresh energy while enriching the overall domestic and international gaming experience.”

These upgrades are said to be part of Borgata’s commitment to innovation and providing an excellent guest experience. The new construction follows a series of enhancements made over the past year that include the redesigned Long Bar, an expanded outdoor pool and the debut of the Overlook event space.

“We couldn’t be more excited about this project as we look ahead to this next phase of Borgata’s evolution,” Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa President and COO Nik Rytterstrom said.

“These enhancements are not just about maintaining our position in the market, they’re about pushing the boundaries of what our guests can expect from a world-class gaming destination.”

As the transformation gets underway, the Gypsy Bar will close on September 6 to make way for a reimagined gaming experience featuring new designs with a contemporary touch. The resort will also add to its culinary portfolio with an Asian cuisine concept in addition to a crafted bar featuring a selection of liquors from around the world.

Additional details about the casino upgrades and new venues will be announced in the coming months.

Rytterstrom was announced as the resort’s President and COO in March of this year.

He has served the company as a longtime executive and began his career with MGM Resorts in 1999. When he started, Rytterstrom held the position of Assistant Hotel Manager at Las Vegas’ Bellagio Resort & Casino. Prior to his latest position, he worked as the GM at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
