The National Council of Games of Luck and Chance (CNJSA) in Bogota has established guidelines that will allow foreign draw results to be used in chance betting.
The council said this move “seeks to boost the sector by increasing the frequency of draws, as well as increasing transfers to health.”
Coljuegos recently reported that games of chance have transferred more than $76.2m for health during the first three months of the year as part of the organisation’s continuing commitment to responsible gaming. The group serves Colombia as its regulatory body for games and luck and chance.
Coljuegos said it maintains a philosophy of fostering growth within the gaming industry through sustainable methods. Several notable sites, including Betplay, Rushbet and Codere, follow Coljuegos’ regulations.
Coljuegos President Marco Emilio Hincapié took a moment to elaborate further on its recent contributions to health throughout the year.
He commented, "The results of foreign draws that are used must belong to draws that are widely disseminated and that have been transmitted in real time in the country of origin, either through analogous media such as television or digital platforms and social networks.
"With this new regulation, we expect the game of chance to increase both its sales and its transfers to health. From the council we are providing all the guarantees to continue strengthening the industry in the territories."
He also noted that concessionaires can use foreign games results “as long as it can be verified that these draws have the respective authorization from the competent authority of each country.”
