Having already set base in countries such as Colombia, Peru and Puerto Rico, Continent 8 Technologies will now be bringing its services to Brazil.
The country only regulated online gambling at the end of 2023, with a bill being presented in December for the industry to become available in 2024. Brazil’s president, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, approved a revised framework in January. Even at the time of the bill being accepted, mainly offshore operators were the ones offering services to players in the country.
“Brazil looks set to be a hugely significant market and one that our customers are keen to explore,” said Continent 8 Technologies sales executive Luana Monje.
“Digital and cloud infrastructure is the foundation of any successful online business, and we are delighted to be launching in Brazil to support new and existing customers with our solutions and services as they make their move in the market.”
Brazil does have concerning factors that have been withstanding for many years, mainly cyber-attacks. The country does not yet have an experienced overseeing body to regulate the industry which leaves any potential business open to attack.
“This is a market that offers tremendous potential to both operators and suppliers, but they must have the right foundation in place to maximise the opportunities on the table. Continent 8 has the experience, expertise, and solutions to help businesses do just that,” said founder and CEO Michael Tobin.
“For more than 25 years, we have been supporting customers as they launch into new and growing markets, and we couldn’t be more excited to be doing this in Brazil.”
Sports betting has proven to be one of the most vulnerable industries to the threats facing Brazil’s progression.
