The destination recently completed a $40m renovation project.

Gaming America was on location at Anderson, Indiana’s Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino, which is owned and operated by Caesars Entertainment.

The company recently wrapped up a project to bring a facelift to the site’s casino floor. The pricetag on the renovations totaled $40m, the largest investment on property updates that Caesars has spent since the company acquired the Madison County casino in 2018.

The development added another 30,000 square feet to the property to expand Hoosier Park’s gaming and dining space. Other added features include new signage, updated lighting and new carpet throughout the gaming floor.

Casino SVP and General Manager Colin Skidmore described the improvements as an “unrecognizable transformation.”

He further commented, “Caesars Entertainment and Harrah’s Hoosier Park are thrilled to unveil our reimagined Hoosier Park experience. From dining to gaming, guests won’t recognize our property's transformation to become your upgraded destination for fun.

“We’re excited to provide more of everything our guests and team members love here at Hoosier Park and invite you to experience it yourself. We’re waiting to welcome you with everything you’d expect from a premier Caesars Entertainment property.”

Hoosier Park now houses more than 1,450 slot machines, 40 tables, a sportsbook and a high-limit room, which has been expanded to offer high rollers more table games and a bar area.

Though the expanded gaming floor has welcomed several new slot machines, many games are duplicates, one drawback for those who might be looking for variety.

However, fans of Buffalo Ascension most likely will not have to wait for a seat at this game. Gaming America counted more than a dozen of these machines sprinkled throughout the casino.

In addition to new games and fan favorites, Hoosier Park pays homage to several old-school slots. There was no shortage of classic three and five-reel slot machines like Triple Diamond Stars and Diamond Gold on the gaming floor.

Caesars also added more dining options on the casino floor as part of the recent update. Hoosier Park’s casino now offers players a Dash Café and Slice Pizzeria, both with reasonably priced menu items that include American cuisine staples like pizza, burgers, hot dogs, chili fries, deli favorites and breaded tenderloin sandwiches, which are a regional classic.

An individual meal does not have to break the bank with these dining options. One person can enjoy a satisfying meal for $8 to $15. Guests can also save money on drinks by taking advantage of the complimentary soda machine, located in the middle section of the casino floor.

The drink station had plenty of options as well, including tea, lemonade, diet and regular soda, along with ice water.

The restaurant section of the casino now includes a spacious sitting area, for those who might need a break between sessions. Caesars added space for several two and four-person tables along the windows, giving diners a panoramic view of the racetrack.

Caesars made exterior updates to the property as well, specifically to the destination’s parking lot. The company said it kept veterans and players with disabilities in mind when developing the outdoor updates.

Caesars restructured the parking lot to provide space for “ample accessible parking.”

Since the brand’s formation in Reno, Nevada in 1937, Caesars Entertainment has expanded over the years to include facilities that operate under the Caesars, Harrah's, Horseshoe and Eldorado brand names.

Its Caesars Digital brand recently partnered with Hacksaw Gaming and launched Hacksaw Gaming’s content for the first time in the Canadian province of Ontario.

As for Harrah's in Indiana, change can be good – and the new updates have certainly benefited the property.
