Delta Corp Limited began life as Creole Holdings Company, a privately held company, before it was incorporated as a privately-held company in 1992. The company became a public limited company when Finolex Group acquired the majority of its shares.
The company later underwent a series of name changes. During 2003–04, Finolex Group divested their shareholding in the company and the company ceased to be a subsidiary. In 2003, the company was converted into a private limited company again.
Later, In 2007, the company changed its name to Arrow Webtex Ltd. In 2008, the company once again changed its name to Delta Corp Limited, which is currently used. In 2014 it opened a $50.4m property, The Deltin, in Daman, which is India’s largest integrated casino resort.
In 2015, Delta gained a license to operate a casino at its Deltin Suite in Goa. A year later, the Government of Goa extended the company’s offshore casino license which allowed it to operate casinos on the Mandovi river until 2017.
Delta now owns three offshore casinos in Goa: the Deltin Royale, Deltin JAQK Caravela and the luxury hotel-casino Deltin Suites.
As Delta’s Goa casinos are riverside operations, Delta Corp acquired jetties (Betim, Reis Magos, Barcolento) and six feeder boats to ferry customers from the mainland to the offshore casinos
In 2016, the company gained a license to operate casinos in Gangtok, Sikkim, which they named the Deltin Denzong Sikkim. It is located 6000 feet above shore level, boasting views of Mt Kanchenjunga, the third-highest peak in the world. The casino offers classic table games such as blackjack, roulette, poker and teen patti.
Deltin Caravela relaunched as the boutique Kings casino, a high-end gaming destination with 217+ gaming positions and 32+ live gaming tables, spread across 25,000 square feet.
Although Delta Corp is primarily focused on land-based gaming it has expanded into the world of online gambling. In 2016, announced the acquisition of Gaussian Networks, owner of the online poker site Adda52.com and other online games. The acquisition was completed in 2017 for a total consideration of $34.4m.
Although the vast majority of Delta’s business is focused is based in India, they do operate elsewhere. For instance, they opened a real estate business in East Africa in 2008 under the name Delta Corp East Africa.
In 2021, Delta unveiled its plans to build the first floating hotel in India, in the Mandovi river, a project which will cost an estimated $20.5m.
