Light & Wonder’s Playzido launches in Ontario
Players in Ontario will now have access to a range of player-focused titles.
Light & Wonder has announced the launch of its content creation platform Playzido in the province of Ontario in Canada.
Back in May last year, Light & Wonder completed the acquisition of Playzido, a content creation platform provider and game supplier.
Players in Ontario will now have access to a broad range of “player-focused” content with relevant titles that have been developed by innovative studios via the open and agile platform, which includes Bang Bang Games, Atlantic Digital and Pixiu Gaming.
This is part of Light & Wonder’s strategy of developing localized content alongside independent game developers through the Playzido Remote Gaming Server platform and will help to further extend its reach across North America.
Within Light & Wonder’s portfolio of titles, there are more than 3,500 games, which come from a global network of in-house and third-party game studios.
Light & Wonder’s Managing Director for Canada, Byron Bridger, said: “We are thrilled to take the Playzido platform live in Ontario for the first time.
“It provides further evidence of our mission to empower operators to craft groundbreaking and branded content, both in North America and beyond. We are now focused on creating a host of compelling new gaming experiences that speak to player appetites in Ontario.”
Last week, Light & Wonder appointed Oliver Chow as its new EVP, CFO and Treasurer.
Chow stepped into the role of Interim CFO in August and was the company’s SVP of Corporate Finance prior to his latest appointment.
