Koin and Marker Trax hire Mark Hemmerle as Chief Legal Officer
Hemmerle will take on the CLO role of both companies, who specialize in virtual payments and casino marking.
Sister companies Koin and Marker Trax have brought on Mark D. Hemmerle as their Chief Legal Officer (CLO).
Hemmerle comes to the role with two decades of experience in executive leadership and compliance counsel roles. His prior employers have included Shift4Payments, Hyatt Grand Victoria Casino and Vantiv/Worldpay, making for an employment background that aligns with the products offered by Koin and Marker Trax.
Marker Trax says it is a cashless digital casino marker and is one of the first of its kind to be regulatory-compliant. It was created by Founder and CEO Gary Ellis. Koin, also with Ellis at the helm as CEO, provides a gaming resort solution with digital payment and card features.
On Hemmerle coming to the role, Koin President Gary Larkin said, “Mark’s expertise lies uniquely at the intersection of emerging technologies and navigating complex compliance issues – aptitudes that align perfectly with the innovations we’re implementing in the industry.”
Alongside his relevant work history, Hemmerle has also received various accolades from several educational bodies. He has a degree in economics from the University of Cincinnati and a law degree from the University of Denver College of Law, plus executive development course qualifications from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Additionally, Hemmerle is a Trustee on the Board of the International Association of Gaming Advisors.
Concluding, Larkin said, “Koin intends to continue leading the conversation on the evolution of cashless payments and we’re fortunate to have Mark on board in pursuit of that goal.”
Hemmerle’s appointment comes only weeks after Koin announced its new CCO, Scott Carcillo, who took on the role in early December. A new COO, Bob Woodbury, was appointed in November.
