Vegas Culinary Union reaches tentative agreement with Mirage, Tropicana

Nearly 2,000 workers voted to approve a five-year contract.

Culinary Union 226 has reached a tentative contract agreement with two Las Vegas resorts, according to a Las Vegas Review-Journal local report. Union workers tentatively approved a five-year contract with The Mirage and Tropicana.

More than 1,700 Mirage and 300 Tropicana employees represented the Culinary Union as part of the deal.

In a post on X, the Culinary Union described the deal as “the best new five-year contract ever.”

Union workers celebrated a successful negotiation with MGM Resorts, Caesars and Wynn last month after employees approved the deals with all three casinos by a 99% vote.

Hard Rock International (HRI), which recently acquired The Mirage, credited its ongoing relationship with the union for reaching a tentative agreement.

Mirage President Joe Lupo told the Review-Journal, “Hard Rock values the strong relationship we share with the Culinary Union and are happy to have collaboratively worked towards a finalized contract agreement.

“We are grateful for the hard work and dedication of our team members over the past year of operating The Mirage.”

In related news, HRI recently released details regarding plans to renovate the destination’s existing resort pool as part of a sitewide rebrand. The company’s design plan was recently approved by the Clark County Commission.

In addition to the pool area upgrade, HRI said it will add another 1.2 million square feet to the resort. The extra area will be home to another theater, along with ballroom and retail spaces.

Hard Rock’s digital division also this week announced the formation of Hard Rock Games.
