Mini-Golf attracts big betting brands
Pro League Network’s World Putting League is hoping to gain popularity on the ‘slowest day in sports.’
Historically, the day after the MLB All-Star Game is considered to be the slowest day in sports, with no major games taking place. This leaves a void for sports betting fans looking to get their entertainment.
That’s where Pro League Network’s (PLN) World Putting League steps up to the plate…or the tee.
Due to the lack of sports taking place on this day, many big betting companies have turned their attention to the event, with DraftKings, Betfred, bet365 and Action247 offering odds on the event across nine states. Bet365 will offer in-play betting for the first time at the event.
The event will host a made-for-wagering one-on-one Battle for the Belt mini-golf match-up between two previous winners, Gary Hester and Joey Graybeal.
PLN specializes in creating events focusing on niche sports that are usually made for wagering. PLN is aware of the gap in the market on this particular day and is looking to take advantage of it, with the attention of the large betting operators going to show that perhaps it could work.
The match will air on TheWorldPuttingLeague.com and Dimers, while a number of golf and betting influencers will simulcast the stream with their own commentary.
The rise of niche sports betting is something that has drawn the interest of many people, with events like Pillow Fight Championship, Carjitsu and SlapFight games, with the latter receiving further attention recently with the inclusion of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s recent appearance as a judge.
PLN will be hoping to turn this hole in the sporting calendar, into a hole-in-one.
