Nevada reports 0.84% revenue decrease for May revenue
The Silver State reached $1.289bn in total gaming revenue for May
The Nevada Gaming Control Board has released its May 2023 revenue report and, overall, there were a lot of falls across the board in Nevada compared to May 2022.
Nevada’s non-restricted gaming licensees reported total gaming win of $1.289bn for May 2023. This amounts to a 0.84% decrease compared to May 2022.
The top five revenue sources in non-restricted locations within Nevada during May 2023 were: blackjack, one-cent slot machines, $1 slot machines, baccarat and multi-denomination slots.
The graph below reflects the popularity of how many people are willing to make multiple small losses (betting one cent) vs those who are willing to make larger bets ($1 bets). The revenue made from one-cent slot machines is almost five times higher than the revenue made from $1 slot machines.

Table, counter and card games brought in $411.2m of revenue for May 2023, which is a decrease from May 2022.
Slot machines saw an overall percentage increase since May 2022, increasing by 0.9% and bringing in $877.9m of revenue,
Multi-denomination slots remain the highest revenue source, bringing in $501.3m during May 2023, an increase of 16.41% year-on-year.
Meanwhile, many other games brought in a percentage decrease annually, such as $100 slot machines, which saw the biggest dip in revenue, decreasing by 30.5%.
All of the slot machines except Multi Denomination saw a loss YoY.
Card Games brought in $15.5m in revenue, an increase of 32.9%, sports betting collected $30.1m, an increase of 11.4% and ‘other’ games reported $11.7m, reflecting a rise of 1.1%.
