The operator’s new addition is a specialist in human resources across several industries.
Churchill Downs Incorporated has recruited Andréa Carter, currently Chief Human Resources Officer at Global Payments, to the company’s board of directors.
Carter, who has been at Global Payments since 2017, also boasts experience at Habitat for Humanity, Ralph Lauren and more across a varied career.
Carter brings over two decades of professional experience in human resources.
Meanwhile, in addition to the role of Chief HR Officer at Global Payments, Carter serves as a Senior Executive Vice President at the payments supplier.
Alex Rankin, CDI Chairman, said: “It is a distinct honor to welcome Andréa Carter as the newest member to the Board.
“She brings with her a wealth of experience building world-class talent functions within successful companies, and will undoubtedly make a meaningful and long-lasting impact on CDI as we continue to evolve.”
Carter herself said: “I have devoted my life professionally to helping others realize their greatness.
“I look forward to applying my experience and passion toward the continued success of an iconic brand like the Kentucky Derby, and the ongoing growth of this great company.”
Most recently, CDI combined with DraftKings to create a new DK Horse product.
Bill Carstanjen, CDI CEO, said: “We believe the depth and quality of our online offering through TwinSpires is unmatched in horseracing.
“We are excited to establish this relationship with DraftKings and to deliver a full end-to-end white label ADW solution that will introduce their significant base of sports betting customers to horse racing wagering.”
Last month, meanwhile, CDI finalized its acquisition of all Peninsula Pacific Entertainment assets for $2.75bn.
